Cherai Beach - Munambam

Cherai beach located in Kochi Taluk in the state of Kerala, India is just 25 kilometres from the Cochin International Airport and 20 kilometres from the Aluva airport. It is located at the north end of Vypeen Island and is a mesmerising sandy beach preferred for swimming. The breath-taking sight of the ocean is accompanied with coconut trees, paddy fields and the backwaters and is certain to please everyone visiting. It is not a busy beach and is very clean compared to other beaches. It is a famous tourist attraction for national and international tourists. Tourists enjoy the pleasing nature of the ocean and if they are lucky they might sight a few dolphins in the ocean.

Munambam beach is an extension of Cherai beach and is located at the northern end of the Cherai beach. Munambam beach is a beautiful stretch of beach near the Munambam Fishing Harbour at the northern end of Vypeen Island. It is a major fishing harbour in Ernakulam and Thrissur districts. This beach is where the River Periyar meets the Arabian Sea. It is considered as an ideal location for flying kites by the locals.
